BJP Retains Arunachal, SKM Sweeps Sikkim in Assembly Elections

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is set to retain power in Arunachal Pradesh, winning 17 seats and leading in 31 others, including 10 unopposed. Chief Minister Pema Khandu is poised for a third term. Meanwhile, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is on course for a sweeping victory, having secured 7 seats and leading in 24 more, ensuring Prem Singh Tamang’s continued leadership. The National People's Party (NPP) leads in 6 seats in Arunachal Pradesh. The elections on April 19 saw a turnout of over 79% in Sikkim and nearly 83% in Arunachal Pradesh.
