An IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on September 10 after a bomb threat was reported onboard. The flight, carrying 107 passengers and six crew members, landed safely at around 5:43 pm. The threat reportedly followed the discovery of a tissue paper bearing the word “bomb” inside an aircraft lavatory. A survivor of the Satya Niketan building collapse in Delhi has recalled the moments before the tragedy, saying there was no warning that basement-related work could pose a danger. Police are also investigating the role of the building’s operators and others connected with the property. A Greater Noida Executive Magistrate has been suspended after the Supreme Court strongly objected to a notice issued to law student and SFI leader Akshat Tripathi over his participation in a CJP-led protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Indian Railways has announced major changes to train services in Delhi ahead of the BRICS Summit, scheduled for September 12–13. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has suspended three Building Department engineers following the collapse of a paying guest accommodation in Satya Niketan that killed seven people and injured seven others. Assistant Engineer Ravinder Kumar and Junior Engineers Suman Saurabh and Mohit Yadav, all from the South West zone, were suspended for alleged negligence and dereliction of duty concerning action against unauthorised construction. The MCD said negligence in handling building violations would not be tolerated. New Delhi has intensified security arrangements ahead of the BRICS Summit, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping receiving heightened protection. The Supreme Court on Thursday sought a report on allegations that a 14-year-old girl who participated in a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest was harassed after her father was allegedly assaulted by Hindutva influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj. A bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said allegations involving a minor could not be ignored and stressed that the girl and her family must not face pressure for pursuing criminal proceedings. The court sought details from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh authorities on the FIR, security arrangements and action taken against those accused of assault and intimidation. Russia is moving closer to major civil aviation deals with Indian companies involving up to 105 regional passenger aircraft, as Moscow seeks to expand its aviation presence in India ahead of the BRICS summit. United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) CEO Vadim Badekha said talks with Indian partners have progressed significantly over the past six months, with several agreements expected during the Innoprom India exhibition in New Delhi.
