Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has appealed to people across India to join his indefinite hunger strike by observing a one-day fast in support of education reforms, environmental protection and Ladakh's concerns. Speaking from Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on the second day of his fast, Wangchuk invited supporters to join the protest in person or organise similar fasts in their own cities and villages. The investigation into the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft has revealed that several accused tried to destroy digital evidence before their arrest. According to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), some suspects deleted chat records, formatted their mobile phones and removed key data to hide their alleged involvement. Investigators believe these actions were aimed at obstructing the probe. The SIT has sent the seized devices for forensic examination to recover deleted information. Fresh details have emerged in the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft case, with sources claiming that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust was aware of the suspected misappropriation before the matter became public. According to sources, trust representatives accompanied police during a search at the residence of an accused on June 5, where cash was allegedly recovered. However, no formal police complaint was filed at that time, and the case surfaced publicly only on June 7. CCTV footage has also raised fresh questions about the sequence of events. Authorities have not officially explained the delay, while the investigation into the alleged theft continues.  

A 35-year-old woman gave birth on a cot while villagers carried her across a swollen river in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district after an ambulance failed to reach her remote village. Savita Vishwakarma went into labour on Wednesday evening, but heavy monsoon rains cut off road access to her hamlet. With no bridge or all-weather road, relatives and villagers carried her on a cot through the river, where she delivered her baby during the journey. They later took the mother and newborn to Amarwara Civil Hospital on a motorcycle after waiting for an ambulance. Both are healthy. Mumbai Police have arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly distributing capsules filled with rat poison during a Muharram procession in an attempt to cause mass harm. Police said the accused disguised zinc phosphide-filled capsules as painkillers after allegedly preparing around 30,000 capsules over the past two weeks. The plot came to light after one person fell ill after consuming a capsule, leading investigators to the suspect. Police have seized nearly 15,000 capsules and are searching for the remaining stock. A 30-year-old man was killed after allegedly detonating a crude explosive inside a moving car on National Highway 48 in Karnataka's Tumakuru district during an apparent attempt to die with his former partner. Police said he had allegedly abducted and stabbed the 23-year-old woman after she refused to reconcile. The woman managed to jump out of the vehicle moments before the explosion, sustaining injuries but surviving. The man died in the blast as the car burst into flames. The Maharashtra State Examination Council (MSEC) has cancelled the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026, which was scheduled for June 28, after an alleged question paper leak. Three people have been arrested by Bhiwandi Police following a raid based on a tip-off. Officials confirmed that some seized questions matched the original exam paper. Around 6 lakh candidates were set to appear for the examination at 1,028 centres across the state.
