Jal Shakti Ministry, ISRO Sign Pact; Launch New Water Research and Conservation Programmes

The Ministry of Jal Shakti and ISRO signed an agreement on Monday to improve water resource management using satellite technology. The partnership will focus on areas such as reservoir monitoring, river flow analysis, groundwater assessment and flood forecasting. The ministry also launched the MAHA-Water programme to support research projects with funding of up to ₹20 crore. A new phase of the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari campaign was unveiled with a target of creating two crore water conservation structures by May 2027.   Officials said technology, innovation and public participation are essential to ensure water security and achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. 'We Are Not Scared': Students Protest Outside Education Ministry Over NEET Leak

Mumbai CNG Price Raised By ₹2 Per Kg, Piped Cooking Gas Also Gets Costlier

Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has increased the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) by ₹2 per kilogram across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, taking the retail rate to ₹86 per kg. The company has also raised domestic piped natural gas (PNG) prices by 50 paise per unit, with the new rate set at ₹52 per unit. The revised prices came into effect from May 30 and are expected to impact millions of households, auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi operators and public transport users. Commercial LPG Becomes Costlier by ₹42 in Delhi; Domestic Rates Remain Unchanged

Commercial LPG prices have been increased from June 1, with the cost of a 19-kg cylinder rising by Rs 42 in Delhi to Rs 3,113.50 and by Rs 53.50 in Kolkata to Rs 3,255.50. Prices of 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have also been raised by Rs 11, taking the Delhi rate to Rs 821.50. Domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged. The revision comes as the government works to strengthen fuel security through larger strategic reserves and tighter enforcement against hoarding and diversion. Officials said fuel stocks remain adequate, refineries are operating optimally, LPG production is at record levels, and no supply shortages have been reported nationwide. (PC: PTI)

South Delhi Building Collapse Kills 5; Rescue Operations Continue, Two MCD Engineers Suspended

It housed coaching centres, cafes and offices.   Several people were rescued, while others were taken to hospital. Authorities fear more people may be trapped under the debris.   The rescue operation has been underway for more than 18 hours. Teams from the NDRF, Delhi Police and other agencies are using heavy equipment and sniffer dogs.   Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ordered an inquiry. Two MCD engineers have also been suspended over alleged lapses.

4 Killed, 10 Injured After Four-Storey Building Collapses In Delhi's Saket, Rescue Operations Continue

At least 4 people were killed and 10 others injured after a four-storey building collapsed in South Delhi's Saket area on Saturday evening. Rescue teams worked through the night and pulled 14 people from the rubble by Sunday morning. The injured, including three women, were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where four victims were declared dead.   According to police, most of the victims were medical students who were eating at a nearby kitchen set up for students in the area. The kitchen structure collapsed after being struck by debris from the falling building. Authorities said rescue operations are continuing as more people may still be trapped. CBSE Admits Security Gaps In Online Marking Portal, Launches Cybersecurity Review After Hacking Claims

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has acknowledged security vulnerabilities in its On-Screen Marking (OSM) portal following allegations that the system was compromised twice by ethical hackers. In its first public response, CBSE said it is closely monitoring the vulnerabilities identified in the portal operated by its service provider and has engaged cybersecurity experts from government agencies and IITs to strengthen security measures.   The board said the identified flaws have been contained and the portal is being migrated to a more secure environment.
